Pesticides: Limit values for surface water, groundwater and drinking water in Switzerland and the EU

Pesticides are used in plant protection products (PPPs), biocidal products and medicines for humans and animals. To protect human health and environmental organisms, limit values for pesticides are therefore set, on the one hand, in authorisation and approval procedures and, on the other hand, in food and environmental protection.

A new info sheet from the Ecotox Centre provides an overview of the currently applicable limit values for pesticides in water bodies and in drinking water in Switzerland and in the EU. Other topics covered include monitoring and the feedback loop between monitoring and authorisation.
