Toxicity of Copper for Soil Organisms

Toxicity of Copper for Soil Organisms

Fungicides on the basis of copper are often used in viticulture to protect grapes from mildew. However, if copper is used on a regular basis, it accumulates in the soil where it may have an impact on soil organisms and processes. This project examines how the duration of copper application in vineyards effects the metal concentration in the soil and the soil biological activity, which is determined by measuring the feeding activity of soil invertebrates.
