Women in Regulatory Toxicology

Together with Marlene Ågerstrand, Anna Beronius and Olwenn Martin, Marion Junghans is the editor of a special volume on "Women in Regulatory Toxicology". In this special volume, the editors focus on the issue of gender equality in the natural sciences. According to UNESCO surveys of recent years, women are underrepresented in science in percentage terms. There are strong differences between the various countries, and the proportion of women decreases with increasing career level. Gender equality is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. The special volume will be published by the journal "Frontiers in Toxicology". Researchers in the field of regulatory toxicology are invited to submit a manuscript on this topic. To ensure that female and male researchers are equally represented in the volume, either the lead author or the senior author of the study should be female.
