Updated PFAS info sheet
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) – also known as forever chemicals – are a large group of synthetic chemicals that are used in a wide range of applications and are part of our everyday lives.
These substances are very stable and therefore accumulate in the environment and in living organisms worldwide; some of them are toxic. The Ecotox Centre has updated its info sheet on PFAS, taking into account relevant developments and regulatory changes. The info sheet provides details on the occurrence of these substances, their toxicity and the legal situation.
